The first unit of the Itama 70 was launched at Ferretti Group’s new production site in Ravenna, in the presence of the owner and his family. An important debut for a model that carries forward the Itama identity, defined by sporty lines, essential elegance and a direct relationship with the sea, while introducing design solutions conceived to make the onboard experience even more fluid, dynamic and engaging.
In this context, PAD PROJECT contributed to the technical development of the lower deck area, taking care of the engineering of the furnishings and the documentation required to make the project consistent with the subsequent production, assembly and installation phases.
The lower deck of the Itama 70 features a three-cabin layout, with the master cabin aft, private bathrooms for each area, a corner galley and a dinette. It is a central area within the onboard experience, where comfort, proportions, functionality and technical precision must interact with structural, systems-related and production constraints.
PAD PROJECT’s intervention focused precisely on this transition: transforming the furniture project into a readable technical system, developed to be produced, controlled and installed with continuity. Each component is analysed in relation to the space, the onboard interfaces, the operational sequences and the needs of the joinery.
The engineering of the lower deck furnishings requires a vision capable of bringing aesthetics, construction and process together. Technical drawings, 3D models, installation drawings and assembly information become coordination tools between design, production and installation. In this phase, the quality of the result takes shape through the accuracy of the information and the ability to make every choice consistent with what will happen in the workshop and onboard.
For PAD PROJECT, the work on the Itama 70 involved different and complementary skills. Coordination of the engineering project for the lower deck area was entrusted to Simone Bracci, Project Manager, together with Martina Soma, Katiuscia Polverari and Gloria Gajtani.
Laura Gaudenzi and Maria Padula worked on the executive drawings, contributing to the development of the technical documentation intended for the operational phases. Their contribution made it possible to translate the furnishings into a practical, orderly and functional language, useful for guiding assembly, verification and installation.
In projects like this, value is created through continuity between different roles, and every step contributes to transforming the furnishings into a manageable technical system, where form and function move forward together.
Taking part in the technical development of the lower deck of the Itama 70 means contributing to an essential phase in the journey that brings a project from idea to realisation. Behind the formal clarity of a yacht interior lies a structure made of dimensions, components, coding, checks, interfaces and operational sequences.
This is where onboard engineering takes on its role: transforming the design intent into a set of coherent, complete and usable information for those who produce and those who install. The final result appears simple, fluid and natural. Its solidity comes from the technical work that precedes it.
For PAD PROJECT, the Itama 70 represents another step in a journey built alongside the excellence of Italian yachting, where every project becomes an opportunity to connect method, expertise and executive responsibility.
